In this tutorial you will take payment for event tickets through WooCommerce, the checkout your site already has. You need Eventonomy Pro, and WooCommerce active on the same site. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Payment gateways. Offer your own checkout. Know what buyers are offered. See the hand-off as a buyer. Then follow the order. Step one. Open Payment gateways. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Settings, then Payments. Find the card named Payment gateways. It has three rows. The last one is This site's own checkout, WooCommerce. Step two. Offer your own checkout. Click the row to open it. It has one box, Offer at checkout. It is ticked here. There are no keys to paste here. Eventonomy uses the WooCommerce that is already on your site. Then click Save changes. The row now reads Offered at checkout. It reads Ready once WooCommerce has at least one payment method switched on. Step three. Know what buyers are offered. The note in this row says it. Checkout is handed to WooCommerce, with the payment methods you have set up there. When this row is offered, it is the only one buyers get. Stripe and PayPal in the rows above are not offered beside it. So turn on the payment methods you want inside WooCommerce itself. Step four. See the hand-off as a buyer. This is an event page, as a visitor sees it. The buyer picks a ticket, and the box works out the Total. There is no list of payment methods to choose from on this page. Get tickets places the order and sends the buyer to a WooCommerce payment page. That page names the event and the amount, and the buyer pays there. Step five. Follow the order. Back in the admin, open Attendees and Orders, then the Orders tab. A new order waits under Pending while the buyer pays. When WooCommerce marks the payment as processing or completed, the order moves to Paid, and the tickets are issued. For card payments you do not have to do anything in between. That is all five. Payment gateways opened, your own checkout offered, what buyers are offered known, the hand-off seen, and the order followed. Your store checkout can now take the money for your events. Next in this series: Read orders in Attendees & Orders.
