A local event website is an event calendar that the whole community fills in. One calendar, where members add their own events, and neighbours join them. Anyone can suggest an event. You approve what goes live. And everyone joins in one click. Today, local events are scattered. A poster in a window. A message in a group chat. A post on a social page that most followers never see. And five different calendars, none of them complete. So good events run half empty. Who needs one? Neighbourhood groups. Sports clubs. Schools and their parents. Churches and charities. Business groups in a town. And hobby meetups. Here is one on a WordPress site. Every upcoming event is on one page. And any member can suggest a new one, from this form. They add the title, the date and the place, without ever seeing the admin area. Then they are back on the calendar. Nothing goes live unseen. Suggested events wait as pending, until the site owner approves or rejects them. The member is emailed either way. You stay in control. You choose who is allowed to add events. You can require approval before anything is published. And members can report an event that should not be there. Events you add yourself are published straight away. Then neighbours join. One opens a cleanup picnic and registers with one click. The page shows how many people are going, which is what brings the next person along. Visitors can browse the way they like. A month calendar. A list. A grid of cards. What is coming up, day by day. Search and filters. And categories and tags. Classes sit on the same calendar as clubs and cleanups. A student books office hours here. The calendar follows people home. They can add an event to Google or Outlook. They can subscribe to the whole calendar, so new events appear on their phone. And reminders go out before each event starts. Nobody has to install an app. It is a page on your own website. Starting takes four steps. Install the plugin on your WordPress site. Let members add events. Turn on approval. And share the calendar with your community. Side by side. Seen by a few, or open to everyone. You post every event, or members add their own. No idea who is coming, or a count on every event. On a page you rent, or on your own website. Every week without one calendar, events in your community run half empty, and people who would have come never hear about them. Eventonomy is the free events plugin for WordPress. Give your community one calendar on your own WordPress site this week. Get Eventonomy. The link is below.
