In this tutorial you will set an all-day event, and choose how event times are shown to your visitors. You need the free Eventonomy plugin. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Tick All day. See an all-day event. Set the time zone of an event. Choose how times are shown. Then see both times on your site. Step one. Tick All day. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Events, and click Create Event. Under Date and time, Starts and Ends each ask for a date and a clock time. Tick All day, above them. Now the two fields ask for dates only. For an event that runs over several days, set Starts to the first day and Ends to the last day. Step two. See an all-day event. This event runs for two whole days. A visitor sees the two dates and the words all day, with no clock time. On your events page, the card reads All day in place of a start time. Step three. Set the time zone of an event. Every event has its own time zone. In the editor, Timezone is under Date and time. A new event starts on the time zone of your site. This webinar is set to America, Los Angeles, so its times are Pacific times. To change it, type a city in Search time zones, and pick it from the list below. Step four. Choose how times are shown. Open Eventonomy, then Settings, then Appearance. The setting is named Timezone display. It has three choices. It starts on Event time zone, which shows the event in its own time. Visitor's time zone shows each visitor their own time. Both shows the two. This changes what visitors see on your site. Emails and calendar files always use the event time zone. Pick one, then click Save changes. Step five. See both times on your site. Timezone display is set to Both here. The webinar shows its own time first, eleven in the morning, Pacific. The second line is the same moment in the visitor's own time, read from their device. It shows only when the two differ. That is all five. All day ticked, an all-day event seen, the time zone of an event set, the way times are shown chosen, and both times seen on your site. Your visitors now read every event time the way you chose. Next in this series: Edit or cancel an event, and tell attendees.
