How to approve submitted events in Eventonomy, step by step. When new events from members are held for your approval, they wait in the Pending stage on the Events screen, and on the Moderation screen under Waiting for approval. Open an event to check it, and use Edit event to fix a detail. Approve publishes the event at once and emails the member. Reject asks you to confirm, takes an optional reason, moves the event back to draft and emails the member, who can change it and submit it again. The member sees Pending under Hosting until you decide.

In this tutorial you will check the events your members submitted in Eventonomy, and approve them or send them back. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, with new events from members held for your approval. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Find the events that wait. Open one and check it. Approve the event. Or send it back. Then see it as the member. Step one. Find the events that wait. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Events, and click the Pending stage. Its number is how many events wait for you. Each row shows the event, the member who submitted it as its Author, and when it starts. Step two. Open one and check it. Click the name of the event. Its Event Workspace opens. View public page shows the event as it will look. Visitors cannot open it yet. Edit event opens the Details tab, where you can fix anything before you approve. Step three. Approve the event. Open Eventonomy, then Moderation. The tab Waiting for approval lists the same events, with who submitted each one and when. Click Approve on the row. The event is published at once, with no second question, and the member is emailed. The same Approve button is on each row of the Pending stage, in Events. Step four. Or send it back. The three dots at the end of the row hold two more choices. Open them. Reject asks you to confirm first, and has a box for a reason. The event goes back to the member as a draft. The member is emailed, with your reason, and can change the event and submit it again. Step five. See it as the member. Now signed in as the member who submitted the event. Under Hosting, it reads Pending until you decide. Once you approve it, the event moves to the Published tab, and anyone can open it. If you reject it, the member finds it under Draft. That is all five. The waiting events found, one opened and checked, Approve and its email, the way to send an event back, and the member's side. Nothing a member submits goes live until you have seen it. Next in this series: Use the My Events dashboard.
