In this tutorial you will promote an event from Eventonomy, with its link, its share buttons, its embed code and its Q R code. You need Eventonomy, the free plugin, and a published event. The Q R code needs Eventonomy Pro. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the Promote tab. Copy the event link. Share the event. Embed the event on another site. Print the Q R code. Then see the embedded event. Step one. Open the Promote tab. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Events, and click an event. Its workspace has a tab named Promote. The card is named Promote this event. An event has to be published before it has anything to share. Step two. Copy the event link. Public event URL is the address of the event page. Click Copy beside it, and paste it wherever you post. Add to calendar is a second link. It hands the event to a calendar app as a calendar file. Download dot I C S, at the foot of the card, gives you that same file to attach to an email. Step three. Share the event. The Share row has five buttons: Email, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and WhatsApp. Each one opens that service in a new tab, with the link to the event already filled in. You finish the post there. Step four. Embed the event on another site. Embed snippet is a short piece of code. Copy it. Paste it into the code of a page on any other website, and the event shows there, in a frame, with its registration box. Step five. Print the Q R code. This row is there with Eventonomy Pro. Q R code for posters holds the address of the event page. Take a screenshot of it for your poster or flyer. Anyone who scans it with a phone lands on the event. Step six. See the embedded event. This is what the embed code loads, as a visitor sees it. It is the event page without the header and footer of your site. The registration box is part of it, so people can register from the other site. That is all six. The Promote tab opened, the event link copied, the event shared, the embed code taken, the Q R code printed, and the embedded event seen. Your event now has everything it needs to be passed around. Next in this series: Move events in from a file or another plugin.
