In this tutorial you will ask your own questions on the RSVP form in Eventonomy, and read the answers. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, and one published event. It takes about four minutes. There are six steps. Open Custom questions. Write a question. Add and order questions. Choose the questions for one event. See the form as a visitor. Then read the answers. Step one. Open Custom questions. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Settings, then Registration. Scroll to the card named Custom questions. Its switch reads On. The questions in this card are one list for your whole site. Each event asks all of them, unless its organizer unticks some. Step two. Write a question. Each one has a Question label. That is the wording people read on the form. Answer type sets how they answer, such as Short text, Number, Date, or a choice from a list. For a choice, type the answers into Choices, one per line. Tick Required, and nobody can register without answering. Step three. Add and order questions. Under each question, Move up and Move down change its place on the form. Remove takes it out. At the bottom of the card, click Add question. A blank question opens. Type its label. Then click Save changes. Step four. Choose the questions for one event. Open Eventonomy, then Events, and click the name of the event. In the Event Workspace, click the Details tab. Scroll down to Registration. Questions to ask when people register lists every question on your site. This event asks the first two. Untick any question an event does not need. Then click Update event. Step five. See the form as a visitor. On the event page, the two questions are in the registration box. What are you working on? takes a short answer. Experience level is marked required. It offers the three choices typed in step two. Step six. Read the answers. Back in the admin, open the event and click the Attendees tab. The Answers column shows what each person wrote, beside the question. Export attendees, above the list, downloads the same answers as a spreadsheet file. That is all six. Custom questions opened, a question written, questions added and ordered, the questions for one event chosen, the form seen as a visitor, and the answers read. Your RSVP form now asks what you need to know. Next in this series: Run a waitlist.
