Event registration software takes the sign-ups, counts the places and keeps the attendee list for you. This video shows event registration running on a WordPress site you own.
What does event registration software do? It takes the sign-ups, counts the places, and keeps the list, so you do not have to. A form on the event page. A count that is always right. And one list of attendees. There are six jobs to check for. Take sign-ups. Limit the places. Run a waitlist. Send confirmations. Send reminders. And export the list when you need it. You can rent this from a hosted service. Then your event lives on their address, not yours. Your attendees sit on their list. And you can only change what they allow. Or you can run registration on the WordPress site you already own. Here it is running on WordPress. A member opens the weekly run club and registers. The place is counted at once, and the page shows how many people are going. Not every event needs a form, so each event chooses. People register here. Or registration is on another site, and the button points there. Or no registration is needed, for an announcement or an open day. You can ask your own questions on the form. A short text answer, or a paragraph. A dropdown, or a checkbox. You write them once, and each event picks the ones it needs. The answers come out in the export. The count matters most. You set a capacity for each event. If two people reach for the last seat, only one gets it. And when someone cancels a free registration, the waitlist moves up by itself. A different event and a different visitor, with the same flow. A student registers, and the confirmation is on the page. The site owner sees every event in one screen, with events sent in by members waiting as pending. And every registration lands in one attendee list, which you can search, filter and export. Sign-ups and free tickets are part of the free plugin. Paid tickets come with the Pro version, which takes payment through Stripe, PayPal or your WooCommerce checkout. Pro also adds check-in at the door. Starting takes four steps. Install the plugin. Pick who is allowed to add events. Add your first event, with its capacity. And open registration. Side by side. Their address, or your own domain. Attendees on their list, or on yours. Fixed forms, or your own questions. A tool you rent, or a free plugin to start. Every event you run on a rented service adds attendees to a list you do not own. Start on your own site, and there is nothing to move later. Eventonomy is the free events plugin for WordPress.
