How do you sell tickets online? You need three things. An event page, a price, and a way to pay. A ticket with a price. A checkout that takes the payment. And a ticket the buyer can show at the door. Every sale follows the same path. The buyer picks a ticket. They pay at checkout. They get a ticket and a confirmation by email. And on the day, they are checked in at the door. Most people start on a ticketing platform. It is quick, and it has a cost. A fee on the tickets you sell. The buyers end up on their list, not yours. And your event lives on their address, so the visitors you earn go to them. The other way is to sell from your own website. Here is the buyer side on a WordPress site. Events are listed on your own domain, and each one has its own page. This event is free, so one click books the place, and the confirmation appears on the page. A paid event adds a price and a payment step to this same button. You decide what each ticket is. A name and a price, like general admission. A limit on seats. A sale window. A minimum and maximum per order. An early bird price that ends on a date. And coupon codes. To take money, you connect a payment method. Stripe. PayPal. Or the WooCommerce checkout your shop already uses. Paid tickets, and the payment methods, are part of the Pro version of the plugin. After paying, the buyer gets a coded ticket for every seat. Three seats means three tickets. A confirmation email, with a link back to the order. And an invoice they can download. Each event shows how many people are going, so a visitor can see it filling up before they decide. Then they book their own place on the same page. On the day, every buyer is in one attendee list. With the Pro version, staff check them in from here, or scan the code on the ticket. And the work after the sale is covered. When an event sells out, you can offer a waitlist. You can refund a whole order, and its tickets stop working. And you can export the orders to a file. Selling from your own site takes four steps. Create the event. Add a paid ticket. Connect a payment method. And publish the page. Side by side. Their address, or your own domain. Buyers on their list, or on yours. Their page design, or your site and your brand. Their payment setup, or your own payment account. Every ticket you sell on a platform builds their audience. Sell the next event from your own site, and the buyers stay with you.
