In this tutorial you will let people subscribe to your events calendar, and add a single event to their own calendar. You need the free Eventonomy plugin. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Turn on the calendar feed. Find your feed address. Get the link for one event. Then see it as a visitor. Step one. Turn on the calendar feed. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Settings, then Connections. The first card is Calendar feed. It is On from the start. Enable calendar downloads and the subscribable feed turns on the feed, and the calendar file for each event. Show Add to calendar on single events puts that button on every event page. Then click Save changes. Step two. Find your feed address. Open Eventonomy, then Setup and Health, and click the Export tab. Under Events is a line that starts, Calendar apps can subscribe to your upcoming events at. The address after it is your feed. Give that address to your visitors. They add it to their calendar app as a calendar from a web address. The feed carries all your upcoming public events. When you add or change an event, their calendars follow. Step three. Get the link for one event. Open the event from Events, and go to its Promote tab. Add to calendar, ICS, is the address of the calendar file for this event alone. Copy puts it on your clipboard, ready for an email or another site. Step four. See it as a visitor. Open an event on your site. Under the registration panel is a button named Add to calendar. Click it, and three choices open. Google Calendar and Outlook open with the event filled in. The last one downloads a calendar file, for Apple Calendar and other apps. That is all four. The calendar feed turned on, your feed address found, the link for one event, and the button seen as a visitor. Your events can now sit in your visitors' own calendars. Next in this series: Show events on a map.
