In this tutorial you will add venues and organizers in Eventonomy, so you enter a place or a host once and pick it for any event. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, installed and active. It takes about four minutes. There are six steps. Add a venue. Add an organizer. Verify an entry. Pick them in an event. See what a member sees. Then see them on the event page. Step one. Add a venue. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Venues. This is the list of places your events can use. Click Add venue, at the top right. A blank form opens. Type the Name, the Address and the City. Only the name is required. Lower down, Getting there holds directions and parking notes. They are shown on the event page. Verified, at the bottom, marks a venue you have confirmed. Then click Add venue. Step two. Add an organizer. Open Eventonomy, then Organizers, and click Add organizer. The form asks for a Name, then a Website URL, an Email and a Phone. Managed by names a member who can edit this organizer from their own dashboard. Then click Add organizer. Step three. Verify an entry. Back on Venues, the Verified column shows which places you have confirmed. A venue that a member adds starts as Unverified, like Rivera Print Studio Annex here. Open the three dots on its row and choose Verify. The tabs above the list filter it to Verified or Unverified. Step four. Pick them in an event. In the event form, on the Details tab, under Location, click Use a saved venue. Your venues are listed. An entry you have not confirmed is marked Unverified. Pick one, and Venue name, Address and City are filled for you. Lower down, open Organizer. Use a saved organizer does the same there. Step five. See what a member sees. Now signed in as a member. In the dashboard, Venues and organizers lists the entries this member added. Each one carries a label. Not verified means the site owner has not confirmed it yet. Edit lets the member correct the details of their own entry. Step six. See them on the event page. This is a published event, as a visitor sees it. The venue is under Location, with its Verified mark. The venue name is a link to every event held there. Hosted by, on the right, names the organizer. That is all six. A venue added, an organizer added, an entry verified, both picked in an event, the member side seen, and both shown on the event page. Your venues and organizers are ready to reuse. Next in this series: Organise events with categories and tags.
