How to add an attendee by hand, or promote from the waitlist, in Eventonomy, step by step. Open the event from Eventonomy, then Events, click the Attendees tab, and click Add attendee. Type the Name and the Email, choose a Status (Going, Maybe or Waitlist), set Extra guests, decide whether to send the confirmation email, and click Add attendee. To promote a waiting person, filter the list to Waitlist, tick the person, and use Bulk actions, Set to going. A person moves up only when a place is free. Organizers have the same form, and a Change status list on each row, under Manage attendees in the member dashboard.
In this tutorial you will add an attendee to an event by hand in Eventonomy, and promote a person from the waitlist. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, and one published event. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Add attendee. Fill in the person. Choose the email and add. Promote from the waitlist. Then see the organizer side. Step one. Open Add attendee. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Events, and click the name of the event. In the Event Workspace, click the Attendees tab. Add attendee is above the list. Click it, and a short form opens. Step two. Fill in the person. Type the Name and the Email. An email that belongs to a member of your site is matched to that member. A new address gets an account on your site, unless Do attendees need an account is set to Guest, no account. Status has three choices: Going, Maybe and Waitlist. Extra guests is for the people they bring along. Step three. Choose the email and add. Send them the confirmation email is ticked. Untick it to add the person without an email. Then click Add attendee, at the foot of the form. The usual rules apply: on a full event, the person joins the waitlist. On an event that sells tickets, the form has one more list, Comp ticket. It gives the person a free ticket that holds a seat. Step four. Promote from the waitlist. Open an event that has a waitlist, click the Attendees tab, then the Waitlist filter. Three people are waiting here. Tick the person you want to move up. In Bulk actions, choose Set to going, then click Apply. A person only moves up when a place is free. Here six are going and the capacity is six, so raise Attendee capacity on the Details tab first. Step five. See the organizer side. Now signed in as the member who runs this event. Manage attendees, in the member dashboard, has the same Add attendee form. Each row ends in a Change status list. Choosing Going there moves one person up from the waitlist. The counts at the top show where the event stands now: six seats taken, from nine registrations. That is all five. Add attendee opened, the person filled in, the email chosen, a waiting person promoted with Set to going, and the organizer side seen. You can now put anyone on the list yourself. Swift and expert coding by Kerit to apply a personalised display adjustment on the Reign Theme for a media plugin that was not fully supported at the moment.
I received a very nice answer just a few hours after I created a ticket. Funnily enough, the feature I had requested in my ticket had just been implemented and released, so Kerit asked me to update the LD Dashboard plugin. It all works as I had hoped for my use case. Maybe I wasn't the first to…
