How to match Eventonomy to your site, step by step. Under Eventonomy, then Settings, then Appearance, set Date format, Time format and Week starts on, choose the Brand colour (Custom colour or Match my theme), decide whether event pages show the organizer and who's going, and set up event cards with Show image on event cards, Card excerpt length and Default cover image. Then see the result as a member.
In this tutorial you will match Eventonomy to your site. The date and time format, the brand colour, and what event pages and cards show. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Set the date and time format. Choose the brand colour. Choose what an event page shows. Set up the event cards. Then see it as a member. Step one. Set the date and time format. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Settings, then Appearance. The first card is Date and time. Date format starts on the format your WordPress site uses. Each other choice is shown as a real date. Time format works the same way. Week starts on sets the first day of the week in calendar views. Step two. Choose the brand colour. Go down to the card named Single event and cards. Brand colour has two choices. Match my theme makes buttons and links on the site follow the main colour of your theme. Check that the button text is easy to read. Custom colour opens a colour box. Pick your own colour, and Eventonomy chooses the button text for contrast. Step three. Choose what an event page shows. In the same card, Show organizer on the single event puts the host on the page. Show who's going adds the photos of recent attendees and the going count. Names show on hover only, and emails are never shown. Step four. Set up the event cards. Show image on event cards puts the cover on each card in your event lists. Card excerpt length is the number of words of the description on a card. Default cover image is the banner for events that have no cover of their own. Then click Save changes, at the bottom of the screen. Step five. See it as a member. Sign in as a member and open Events. Each card has its cover image and a short excerpt. Open an event. The date and the time follow your formats, and the button is in the colour of the theme. Lower down are the host, and who is going. That is all five. The date and time format, the brand colour, what an event page shows, the event cards, and the result seen as a member. Eventonomy now looks like the rest of your site. Next in this series: Add venues and organizers.
