In this tutorial you will run the Eventonomy setup wizard, then read the health check that tells you if anything is wrong. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the setup wizard. Choose who can create events. Set the currency and time zone. Check payments and emails. Finish the wizard. Then read the health check. Step one. Open the setup wizard. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Setup and Health. A card at the top reads Finish first-run setup. Click Open setup wizard. Its seven steps, from Permissions to Finish, are shown across the top. The wizard counts its own steps. This tutorial's steps are in the bar at the bottom. Step two. Choose who can create events. Who can create events starts on any logged-in member. Pick a role to limit it. New events from members has two choices. Publish immediately, or Hold for my approval. Save and continue stores both answers and moves to the next step. Step three. Set the currency and time zone. This is Locale. Default currency is used for tickets and donations. Site timezone asks for the city your events happen in. Every event time is based on it. Search for the city, then choose it. Step four. Check payments and emails. Get paid is for selling tickets. With Eventonomy Pro, it lists the payment gateways. Without it, click Skip for now. The next step, Emails, sets the From name and the From address. Confirmations and reminders are sent from them. Step five. Finish the wizard. Sample data is optional. It loads sample events, so you can see how everything works. Move to the next step. Pages checks that the pages your visitors use are in place. Eventonomy makes them when you activate it. Click Continue. On the last step, Finish setup marks setup as complete and clears the reminders. Under it is a short list of what is left to check, and a button to create your first event. Step six. Read the health check. Back on Setup and Health, the System checks card tests your install. Each row ends in OK, Warning or Fail. OK means there is nothing to do. A Warning says what is wrong, and links to the screen that fixes it. Come back to this page whenever something misbehaves. That is all six. The wizard opened, who can create events, the currency and time zone, payments and emails, the wizard finished, and the health check read. Eventonomy is set up and checked. Next in this series: Create your first event.
