In this tutorial you will add an events calendar to your site, so visitors can browse your events by date. You need the free Eventonomy plugin. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Turn on the Month view. Set up the calendar. Add the calendar to a page. Then see the calendar on your site. Step one. Turn on the Month view. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Settings, then Appearance. Find the card named Event views. Under Enabled views, Month, calendar, is ticked from the start. That puts a Month tab on your events page. To open your events page on the calendar, set Default view to Month. Week and Day, in the same list, need Eventonomy Pro. Step two. Set up the calendar. Lower on the same screen is a card named Calendar view. It is On from the start. Max events shown per day sets how many events a day lists before a link to the rest. It starts at three. Highlight today marks the current day on the calendar. Week starts on, in the Date and time card at the top, sets the first column. Then click Save changes. Step three. Add the calendar to a page. Your events page already has it. For any other page, open Eventonomy, then Blocks. The first block is Eventonomy Calendar. In the block editor, click the plus sign, search for Eventonomy, and insert it. On a classic theme or a page builder, paste the shortcode in place of the block. Copy puts it on your clipboard. Step four. See the calendar on your site. As a visitor, the events page has a Month tab. Each day lists its events with their start times. The arrows move one month at a time. Each month has its own address, so you can share a link to it. Back on November, click an event on its day. Its own page opens, with the date, the place and the way to register. That is all four. The Month view turned on, the calendar set up, the calendar added to a page, and the calendar seen on your site. Your visitors can now browse your events by date. Next in this series: Show an events list and an Upcoming strip.
