How to message your attendees in Eventonomy, step by step. On the Events screen of the Eventonomy admin, open an event, click the Attendees tab and then Email attendees. On the Manage attendees page of your site, open Email attendees, type a Subject and a Message, and choose Send to: Going, or Going + waitlist. People who answered Maybe or cancelled are not emailed. Send blast asks you to confirm first. Only your last message is noted, there is no history. Reminders and messages end with an Unsubscribe link: it opens a page that asks first, and the Unsubscribe button there unsubscribes that address. The next page has a Resubscribe button. There is no admin list of unsubscribed people.

In this tutorial you will email the people registered for an event in Eventonomy, and see how a person unsubscribes. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, and an event with registrations. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the event attendees. Open Email attendees. Write the message. Choose who gets it. Then see how unsubscribing works. Step one. Open the event attendees. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Events, and open the event. This is its Event Workspace. Click the Attendees tab. Above the list is the button, Email attendees. It opens the list of this event on your site. Step two. Open Email attendees. You are now on your site, on the page Manage attendees for this event. A member who runs an event has the same page. Under the list of people, click Email attendees. The message box opens. It sends one message to everyone registered for this event. People who unsubscribed from event emails are skipped. Step three. Write the message. Type a Subject. It is the line people see in their inbox. Then type the Message. Keep it short and useful: parking, a room change, what to bring. Step four. Choose who gets it. Send to has two choices. Going is everyone with a place. Going plus waitlist adds the people waiting for one. Each choice shows its number of people. Recipients, beside the list, is at most how many emails will go out. Then click Send blast. It asks you to confirm before anything is sent. This film stops here, so no email goes out. Eventonomy keeps a note of your last message only. It does not keep a history of what you sent. Step five. See how unsubscribing works. Reminders, messages like this one, and with Eventonomy Pro the emails about organizers a person follows, each end with an Unsubscribe link. It opens a page that asks first. The person clicks Unsubscribe, and the page confirms it. From then on, those emails skip that address. Emails about a person's own registrations and orders still arrive. Resubscribe, on the same page, turns the emails back on. Each person does this from their own email. Your admin has no list of who unsubscribed. That is all five. The event attendees opened, Email attendees opened, the message written, the people chosen, and unsubscribing seen. You can now reach everyone coming to an event, from your own site. Next in this series: Let members submit events.
