In this tutorial you will collect RSVPs in Eventonomy, and set how many people an event can take. You need the free Eventonomy plugin, and one published event. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Check that RSVP is on. Set the rules for every event. Set the capacity of an event. See the form on the event page. Then see who is coming. Step one. Check that RSVP is on. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Settings, then Registration. The first card is RSVP, and its switch reads On. This switch covers the whole site. With it off, no event takes registrations. New events start as is set to People register here, so every new event opens ready to take sign-ups. Step two. Set the rules for every event. Limit attendees on new events sets the number a new event starts with. Leave it unticked for no limit. Let attendees bring guests adds a guests field to the form. Limit additional guests per RSVP caps it. Close registration before the event starts closes sign-ups a number of hours before the event starts. Show remaining spots prints how many places are left on your event pages. After any change here, click Save changes. Step three. Set the capacity of an event. Open Eventonomy, then Events, and click the name of the event. In the Event Workspace, click the Details tab. Scroll down to Registration. How people register is set to People register here. Attendee capacity is the most people who can register. This event takes forty. Zero means no limit for this event. Then click Update event. Step four. See the form on the event page. This is the event as a visitor sees it. The box on the right is named Register for this event. Additional guests is the guests field from step two. At the foot of the form, Register takes a place. Maybe records interest. Step five. See who is coming. Back in the admin, the Overview tab of the event has a tile named Seats taken. Sixteen of forty places are gone. Click the Attendees tab for the names. The row of filters counts each answer. Sixteen people are Going, and two said Maybe. Under it, every person is listed with a Status. That is all five. RSVP checked, the rules for every event set, the capacity of one event set, the form seen on the event page, and the people who are coming counted. Your event is taking RSVPs, up to the number you set. Next in this series: Let guests register, or make people log in.
