In this tutorial you will add coupons in Eventonomy: discount codes your buyers type in at checkout. You need Eventonomy Pro with a payment gateway connected, and an event with a paid ticket. It takes about four minutes. There are six steps. Open Coupons. Add a code and a discount. Set the limits. Limit it to one event or ticket. Use the code as a buyer. Then check where it was used. Step one. Open Coupons. In your WordPress admin, open Eventonomy, then Coupons. All coupons lists every code, with details such as its discount, how many times it was used, and its status. A discount comes off the subtotal, before any fee and tax. Step two. Add a code and a discount. Click Add coupon, at the top of the page. Type the Code a buyer will enter. Capital or small letters, both work. Discount type is Percentage of subtotal, or Fixed amount. Amount is the number: 10 here, for ten percent off. Step three. Set the limits. Minimum subtotal is the smallest order the code works on. Zero means any order. Usage limit is how many times the code can be used in total. Zero means no limit. Starts and Expires are optional. They are the first and the last day the code works. Step four. Limit it to one event or ticket. In Only for event, start typing the name of an event and pick it. The code then works on that event only. Only for ticket type then lists the tickets of that event. Choose one, and the discount applies to that ticket type only. Leave both empty and the code works on every event. Keep Active ticked, then click Add coupon. Step five. Use the code as a buyer. This is the event page, as a visitor sees it. Once a ticket is picked, a box named Coupon code appears. The buyer types the code and clicks Apply. This code takes ten percent off. The Discount line shows it, and the Total is lower. Step six. Check where it was used. Back on the Coupons page, Used counts the orders that took the code, and Discount given adds up what it took off. Click the number under Used to list those orders, then click View. The order names the Coupon, and shows the Subtotal, the Discount and the Total the buyer paid. That is all six. Coupons opened, a code and a discount added, its limits set, the code limited to one event or ticket, used as a buyer, and found on the order. Your buyers can now use a discount code. Next in this series: Add tax and fees.
