Upcoming Events Block
The Upcoming Events block (eventonomy/upcoming) renders a compact list of the next few published events, a quick teaser rather than a full browsing surface. It is built for sidebars and widget areas: each row shows a date chip, the title (up to two lines), the time and the venue, and it stays readable down to a 240px column.
A second version, Eventonomy Next Event, shows one event as a card with its date, venue, price and a Register or Get tickets button.
When to Use It
Add it to your home page or a sidebar to give visitors a preview of what's coming without sending them to the full Events page.
How to Add It
Block Editor:
- Open the page or widget area in the Block Editor.
- Click + and search for Eventonomy Upcoming Events.
- Insert the block.
- Open the block's Settings panel to set the title, how many events to show, a category and whether to show images.
For a single featured event, search for Eventonomy Next Event instead.

The shortcode does not take eventId: layout="next" always shows the next upcoming event.
When you add the block to a theme widget area, leave the theme's widget title empty: the block shows its own heading.
What Visitors Can Do
Visitors see a short, scannable list of what's coming up next and click through to any event for full details. View all events opens your Events page. On the Next Event card, the button takes them straight to the event's registration.
